The site is located in Douglas Cork City.
The site sits in front of a National Monument and the design takes its cues from this medieval house. The 3 gabled bays clad in Molianus limestone and buff brick add quality to the composition and define the 3 shops and 4 apartments on the first floor. The sloping nature of the site demanded a stepped approach that had the effect of terracing the building whilst allowing flush ramped access for each unit on the ground floor for disabled access requirements.
Small Juliet balconies in the upper floors add a degree of scale and life to the apartments whilst addressing the street and views of Donnybrook hills in the distance.
