The site is located in Crosshaven Co. Cork and is situated in a row of established single and 2 storey units. The approach was for a dark building to meld with the landscape and to reflect the darker slated buildings. We also wanted a complete juxtaposed to the existing typology as there was no clear reference in the area to draw from.
The dark finish is counterbalanced with a Valencia slate screen wall that offers a link to the 2 storey building to the south, protection from the elements and a semi covered brise soleil to the south also. Rear courtyard allows for private space to eat but achieved whilst still looking at a view of Roches point
