The site is located in Turners Cross Cork City , an existing 1950s house needed to be repurposed to expand to accommodate a larger family. The existing house had the charm of old slob brick façade and this theme was developed into the new extension. The capturing of west light was a challenge and achieved by means of high level celestory windows. A single plane floats over a large glkazed section to a sunken rear garden to respect the site levels and allow the architecture to find the natural terrain and reflect it.
